Ambassador Mohamed Alharthy of the Sultanate of Oman and Mrs. Azza Alharthy hosted a luncheon reception at Hotel Shilla in Seoul on Nov. 18, 2015 to celebrate the 45th National Day of Oman.
The reception was attended many distinguished guests from the Korean society and the foreign community in Korea, especially the Seoul Diplomatic Corps (SDC).

Among the Korean dignitaries in attendance at the party were Minister of Health & Welfare Chung Chin-youb and many Korean business leaders, including Publisher-Chairman Lee Kyung-sik of The Korea Post and General Manager Moon Byung-chul of Hyundai Engineering.

From the SDC came many ambassadors and other senior diplomats. In a written interview with The Korea Post in advance of the reception, Ambassador Alharthy said, “With a deep sense of pride, self-confidence and determination, the Sultanate of Oman celebrates its 45th National Day at a time the march of Omani modern renaissance, progress and prosperity continues to take giant strides in all fields under the wise leadership of His MajestySultan Qaboos Bin Said of the Sultanate of Oman.”
Then he said that Modern Oman kept scoring milestones towards reviving its prominent status in the world arena and contributing tangibly and positively to all that achieved bounty and peace to its people and peoples of all friendly countries.

“The government of Sultanate of Oman,” he said, “spares no effort for the establishment of security, stability and harmony in the region, besides supporting all other efforts aimed at realizing peace through dialogue and peaceful means in a manner that achieves the common interests of all peoples of the region and enable them to channel their energy to their own development without external interference in their affairs in any way.”
It was a rather cold day for a middle November noon even with a light rain. However, the weather obviously daunted no one whereas the Emerald Room of Hotel Shilla were literally packed with Korean and international well-wishers and friends of Oman.
At the reception room were on display many photographs to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Oman.
