The main opposition Minjoo Party leader, Madam Choo Mi-ae, wants President Park Geun-hye to resign by the end of January next year while Kim Moo-sung, leader of the non-mainstream group of the ruling Saenuri Party, says President Park should not be impeached if she decides to step down by the end of April. This was disclosed as a result of an emergency meeting between Choo and Kim at a hotel on Yeouido in Seoul this morning, where they failed to meet half way on the fate of President Park.

Madam Choo strongly told reporters after the meeting, “I strongly urged Mr. Kim to join our move to impeach President Park and asked for his cooperation.”

Then she said that resignation of the President must come by the end of January next year.

On the other hand, Kim said, “If President Park agrees to the recommendation of the political doyens of Korea to step down as President by the end of April, I must say that I am with them.”

Then he said: “Madam Choo did not agree on our position on the President’s resignation in April but I still think that it is more important to seek the President’s resignation by the end of April.”

Then he said, “If we fail to reach an agreement on the resignation of the President by April, we would have to join the impeachment movement against her (pushed by bot the opposition camp and the splinter group of the ruling Saenuri Party.)

However, Kim said that he would continue his effort to seen an agreement from the opposition camp.
