Why's Insanga salt 121 times the price of normal premium salt of Korea's leading food makers?
The price of premium table salt of leading Korean food companies is around 2,000-3,000 won per kilogram.Namely, Hanju salt is 1,850 won, Chungjungwon salt 3,200 won, Emart salt 3,960 Won and CJ salt 6,870 won.In a striking contrast, the Insanga bamboo salt is 219,000 won for the same quantity, which is about 121 times the price of average premium salt of Korea's leading food companies.Why is that? Answers at the end of this Headlines.
Bamboo Salt is priced 121 times higher than the premium salt of other leading Korean food companies as it is fire-processed nine times inside a kiln in temperatures ranging around 1,600 degrees, is molten and turned into ‘Salt Jewel,’ which then is turned into powder or granula form.

The cane is sealed with red clay at both ends and is roasted (burnt) inside a kiln (furnace). The salt bar (now with the bomboo as it has been burnt away) is roasted (burnt) seven more times and then finally for the ninth time it is burnt in a temperature of 1,600 degrees. The salt then is molten like the molten iron ore from inside the furnace. This molten bamboo salt is named Yongyong Salt meaning ‘Salt Jewel’ which is presented as a souvenir to each ambassador and other senior diplomat taking part in the tour for its introduction to their county for the health of their people.

Insanga makes 'bamboo salt,' runs health-promoting facilities
World’s first Bamboo Salt Co. and Insan Food founded by Dr. Insan Kim Il-Hun
Insanga Co., Ltd., established in 1987, produces Jukyeom (literally, Bamboo Salt), which is very popular in Korea for its health-promoting effect. However, Insanga is better known for a health promotion program that includes a health tour of various facilities at the Insanga Estate noted for clean air coming from dense forest and a village of traditional Korean nobilities of the past dynasties.
