S. Korea's push for unification not aimed at absorbing N. Korea: minister

South Korean Unification Minister Ryoo Kihl-jae said Thursday that Seoul's push for unification with North Korea is by no means an attempt to absorb the communist nation.

South Korean President Park Geun-hye has made strong pitches for unification since early this year, saying it would be a "bonanza" for the two Koreas as well as a blessing for neighboring countries. North Korea has denounced the drive as an attempt to absorb it.
