The Korea Post notice:

Why not encourage your Korean staffers to send us an essay in both Korean and English languages?

Many of the Korean secretaries and other staffers at the embassies have been there for a long time, some of them for decades.

As such, they are very well versed in the culture, customs and various other aspects of their employer country as well as the language. They are an invaluable human asset to the embassies.

Could there be a better media in bridging gaps between your esteemed country and Korea promoting goodwill between the two countries? They can bring your country and Korea a lot closer together to each other.

Encourage them to write an essay in Korean and English and email them to edt@koreapost.com to the attention of the Editor for free publication. The range of words is 1,000 with a portrait photo (or any other photo of their preference) to accompany the story.

The topic is free and optional as long as they contribute to the promotion of cooperation, exchange and friendship between your country and Korea.

The Korea Post, Media publisher of five media units in the Korean and English languages (including a Korean-English print weekly), will publish them in its (1) Korean-language Internet daily, (2) English-language Internet daily, (3) Korean Daily Media Headlines (summary) and (4) the main English print monthly--as well as (5) the Korean-English print weekly.

For further details, call the Editor at 2298-1740/2 or 010-5201-1740.

Today’s humor:

Humor from a generous former Asian ambassador

Story of a doc and his patients

One morning at a doctor's clinic a patient arrives complaining of serious back pain.

The doctor examines him and asks him: "Tell me what happened to your back...?"

The patient replies: "Sir, I work for a local night club. This morning I went to my apartment early and heard some noise in my bed room.

On entering I knew someone had been with my wife and the balcony door was open. I rushed out of the balcony door and did not find anyone. As I looked down from the balcony I saw a man running out and he was dressing himself. I was very angry. I grabbed the fridge and threw it at him. It was very heavy... That is how I strained my back.!"

Later that day, a second patient arrives as if he has been in a car wreck.

The doctor said: "My previous patient looked bad… But you look terrible… What the hell happened to you?"

He replied: "You know I have been unemployed for a while now. Today was the first day at my new job... I forgot to set my alarm and I was late... I was running out of the building, getting dressed at the same time. And you won't believe it but I was hit by a fridge. I don't know how and where from this fridge fell on me...!!!"

Before closing hours, the third patient comes. He looks like he was punished in hell.

The doctor is shocked. He asks: "What the hell happened to you..??"

The patient replies: "Well, It started like this, I was in a fridge..........!

Morbid jealousy

George and Dick were in the bar talking about their jealous wives.

“My wife is very jealous and she goes over all my shirts looking for traces of lipstick,” George said.

“You think that’s bad,” responded Dick. “My wife goes over all my clothes looking for long blonde hairs.”

“Does she ever find any?” George asked.

“No, but that doesn’t mean she trusts me,” Dick said. “The other day she accused me of going out with bald-headed woman.”
