Bank of Korea governor predicts growth rate of higher than 2.5%

The Bank of Korea (BOK) governor predicted on Sept. 23 that South Korea’s economic growth rate for 2015 would not fall below 2.5%.Governor Lee Ju-yeol cited recovery in domestic demand levels as a factor in his projection, which is higher than others have previously predicted. Lee also clarified that recent remarks about the 1.5% interest rate level “not being a lower limit” were not meant to hint at the possibility of additional rate cuts. .
