As Your Excellency might have recently noticed, almost all the TVs and other print and digital media in Korea are all out in introducing the health foods from all the different countries of the world?as well as the traditional Korean oganic foods. Why do they do it?!

There is only one reason: People want to stay in good health and live long and to do so they must eat and drink the best they can get because as they now almost invariably say, “What you eat is what you are!”

Just at this juncture, I am pleased to inform Your Excellency that Mayor Lee Suk-woo of the Namyangju City cordially invites Your Excellency and Madam, together with other Ambassadors and Madams, to the Opening Ceremony of the 2015 Namyangju Slow Life (Food) Festival on Thursday 8 October 2015. Minister-level officials from the twelve countries involved in the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) reached a deal after a five-day marathon of negotiations. With the deal made, a debate is coming in South Korea over whether or not to join. Spearheaded by the US, the TPP has been called a mega-FTA,” which its twelve member countries - including Japan, Australia, Malaysia, Vietnam, and Canada - combining for a gross domestic product (GDP) equivalent to nearly 40% of the global economy. .

North Korea releases detained student

On Oct. 5, North Korea released Joo Won-moon, a South Korean national studying in the US who was detained in April, at the border village of Panmunjom. His release was announced by the central committee of North Korea’s Red Cross. Intent on personally witnessing the reality of North Korea’s Joo was captured on Apr. 22 while crossing the China-North Korea border from the city of Dandong. Joo has permanent residency status in the US and attends the Stern School of Business at New York University. .
