0820 hours Friday April 8, 2016: Meet at Grqand Hyatt Seoul(near Water Fountain).

0830-1100 hours: Move by Limousine Bus to Dangjin by picturesque West Coast Expressway, visiting the Hyundai Steel Plant on the way to Dangjin.

1100-1140 hours: Visit the Gijisi Tug-of-War Museum.

1200-1340 hours: Luncheon at the Hyundai Steel Guest House hosted by Major and Mrs. Kim Hong-jang of the Dangjin City.

1400-1420 hours: Wear traditional Korean costumes of the King, General and Court ladies.

1430-1640 hours: Have hands-on experience in various local cultural events, including participation in the Gijisi Tug-of-War and Rice wine- and Sake-making.

1700-1830 hours: Move back to  Seoul arriving at Grand Hayatt Seoul by 6:30 p.m.

Rival parties launch campaign committees, head into full-scale election mode

Ruling and opposition parties launched campaign committees Monday for next month's parliamentary election and went into full-fledged election mode.

Household income falls as a portion of S. Korea’s GDP

OECD report finds South Korea has the second-largest drop in household income among member states

Household income has sharply declined as a portion of South Korean gross domestic product (GDP) in the past twenty years. The findings mean households account for a lesser portion now in terms of economic growth distribution. A recent report by the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) titled “Economic Policy Reforms 2016: Going for Growth” examined the rate of increase in household income as a portion of GDP for its member states between 1995 and 2013 or 2014.

Lawyers group constitutional complaint over comfort women agreement

On Mar. 27, MINBYUN-Lawyers for a Democratic Society filed a complaint with South Korea’s Constitutional Court objecting to the comfort women agreement reached recently by South Korea and Japan’s foreign ministers. In the complaint, MINBYUN is representing 29 former comfort women and 41 relatives of the comfort women (both surviving and deceased).
