Due to re-opening of clubs, ‘watering holes’

A total of 101 new cases of the COVID-19 broke out on May 12 at a number of clubs and drinking bars in the Itaewon area in the Yongsan-gu Ward in Seoul. This was disclosed by Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (KCDCP).
According to the KCDCP, at least 23 confirmed patients were the family members and friends of people who had visited the clubs drinking places in the Itaewon area.
The KCDC authorities warned that the situation could lead to return a rapid upturn of CORONA cases in Korea young men use means of public transportation almost every day and they are active compared with other age groups of people.
The majority of the newly infected persons were found to be under 30 in age.
The Itaewon area, which has many clubs and other drinking houses formerly catering to the United States military personnel stationed in the Yongsan area, is now frequented by all types of people from all parts of the world since the majority of the U.S. military installations had moved to the new bases in the Pyeongtaek area south of Seoul.
