Gyeonggi Governor Lee Jae-myung looms larger as Presidential candidate

Who is going to win the Presidential elections in May 2022?

So far, many people in Korea thought that former Prime Minister Lee Nak-yon was the best bet.

Now this belief is being seriously challenged by reinstated Governor Lee Jae-myung of the Gyeonggi Province.

In the latest polls conducted and disclosed by Real Meter today at the request of YTN, Lee Jae-myung scored 18.7% of the polls conducted on the Presidential hopefuls, which was only 4.4% less than the front-running former Prime Minister Lee Nak-yon with a top rating, 23.3%.

 

The scores were as follows:

Former Prime Minister Lee Nak-yon: 23.3%
Gyeonggi Province Governor Lee Jae-myung: 18.7%
Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol: 14.3%
National Assemblyman Hong Jun-pyo (Ind.): 5.9%
Former Prime Minister Hwang Kyo-ahn (conservative): 5.1%
President Ahn Cheol-soo of People’s Party: 4.8% 
Former Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon: 4.7%
Chairperson Sim Sang-jung of the Justice Party: 3.9%
Former Presidential Chief Secretary Jong-seok 3.5%
Governor Won Hee-ryong of Jeju Probvince: 2.8%
