Jose Vicente de Los Mozos, executive vice president, manufacturing & supply chain of Group Renault, delivered a video message to executives and employees of Renault Samsung Motors' Busan plant on Feb. 9 to ensure XM3's successful entry into Europe.

“In order for XM3 to successfully enter Europe, I call for achieving three goals: top quality, lower production costs, and meet production delivery dates,” said Vice Chairman Los Mozos.

"When I visited the Busan plant last year, you promised to improve the competitiveness to secure export volume for New Arkana (XM3 export vehicles) to Europe," Vice Chairman Ross Mozos said. "I believed in that promise and persuaded Renault Group's top executives to produce New Arkana in Busan.

"But as of the end of 2020, the promise has not been fulfilled, and the factory manufacturing cost of the Busan plant is twice as high as that of the Captur produced in Spain," Vice Chairman Ross Mozos expressed concern and said, "This is a problem with Busan plant's competitiveness and needs urgent improvement."

He said, "The Busan plant should produce and release New Arkana to the European market at the same level of factory manufacturing cost as the Captur made in Spain, which is a responsibility that the Busan plant should comply with."

Vice Chairman Ross Moses also warned, "If this responsibility that Busan plant must fulfill is not met, Renault will find a new way."
