Discovered in the process of filming a promotional video for Jecheon City

A topography resembling the Italian peninsula was discovered on the shores of Cheongpung Lake in Jecheon City, Chungcheongbuk-do.

Even the villagers did not know about this place until now, but it was recently discovered for the first time in the process of filming a promotional video for the city of Jecheon.

Cheongpung Lake is an artificial lake created in the Cheongpung-myeon and Susan-myeon areas of Jecheon City when the Chungju Dam was built on the banks of the Namhan River in 1985.

On Nov. 14, Jecheon City flew a drone over the lake to produce a video introducing the scenery of Cheongpung Lake.

In the process of editing a video of the Neunggang-ri area of Susan-myeon, located at the southwestern end of Geumsusan Mountain, a boot-shaped topography was discovered. It was similar to the Italian peninsula in the form of shoes’ pointed front nose, high heels, and long neck boots.
Jecheon City has decided to actively promote this 'Italian topography' as a local tourist attraction.

Mayor Lee Sang-cheon of Jecheon City said, “We will discover an item so that it can become a tourist destination that travelers can come from all over the country.”
