Seo Jeong-mi inaugurated as the 3rd Chairman of FACO Boseong Branch
Seo Jeong-mi was inaugurated as the third chairman of the Boseong Branch of the Federation of Artistic & Cultural Organization of Korea (FACO) in a ceremony held at the auditorium of the Boseong Social Welfare Center on April 2, 2021.
The inauguration ceremony was simplified in compliance with the COVID-19 quarantine guidelines.
Delivering an inauguration speech, Chairman Seo Jeong-mi said, "I will make Boseong Branch the center of arts and culture in Boseong-gun where artists and residents will unite.”
On that day, Chairman Seo received 300 kg of rice and daily necessities as the congratulatory presents and showed a beautiful good deed by donating them to neighbors who need help.
The 27th Korea Entertainment Arts Achievement Award
The 27th Korea Entertainment Arts Awards Ceremony was held at Aram Theater in Goyang, Aram Nuri Arts Center for two days from May 27 to 28, 2021.
At the ceremony, Chairman Seo Jeong-mi received the Chairman’s Award from the FACO on behalf of Boseong-gun in recognition of her efforts for contributing to the development of entertainment arts.
Jung Hae-gap, chairman of PuReuMi Arts Troupe, a special group of the Boseong Branch, won the Social Service Award for contribution to the development of entertainment arts.
Established PuReuMi Arts Troupe
PuReuMi Art Troupe was formed in 2006 led by leader Seo Jeong-mi. Disciples were nurtured while leadeder Seo Jeong-mi conducted various teaching activities in the Boseong area.
While performing as a group, she felt the need to form a group and founded the PuReuMi Art Troupe.
The name 'PuReuMi' reminded us of a pine tree that was always green without falling leaves even in the cold winter.
It contains the meaning of 'Let's live a young and healthy life, dancing and singing without changing even in old age'.
At the time of its initial formation, the club was invited to opening and completion ceremonies and performed “pungmul.”
Currently, local residents have gathered and about 100 members are working together.
Currently, the site is located near the Boseong National Sports Center.
Leader Seo Jeong-mi is nurturing disciples who will inherit traditional culture by giving lectures to various classes at elementary, middle, and high schools in Boseong-gun, Boseong Social Welfare Center, Suncheon Cheongam College, Juam Silver University, and Beolgyo Senior Welfare Center.
A business pact with the Boseong Office of Education for revitalization of traditional arts education
A business agreement ceremony was held to revitalize traditional arts education between Boseong Branch and the Boseong Office of Education, Beolgyo Elementary School, Nakseong Elementary School, Nodong Elementary School, and Ye-dang Middle School on June 16, 2021.
The agreement contains the contents of cooperation between institutions for the development of programs for revitalizing traditional arts education, distribution and operation of schools, support for human resources necessary for the operation of educational programs, support for staff training, and the spread, development, and settlement of local traditional arts.
Chairman Seo Jeong-mi said, “Boseong Branch will take the lead in the development of arts and crafts and strive to nurture the dream of local art.”
Untact Boseong Art Festival in 2021
The 2021 Untact Boseong Art Festival was held at the Boseong-gun Culture and Arts Center on Oct. 16, 2021.
This art festival was created by the participation of the Boseong Cultural and Arts Organization and the citizens of the county.
Through various exhibitions, Boseong's unique program was composed.
As a major program, Boseong's Harmony Pansori 100-member choral performance was presented by Boseong-gun residents who received special training from five master singers.
It was broadcast live on the YouTube channel of the Boseong-gun Culture and Arts Center.
