As part of the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Korea, on the occasion of the 581st anniversary of the birth of the great poet and thinker Alisher Navoi, a solemn ceremony of laying flowers at the monument of the Alisher Navoi took place in Seoul.
The event was attended by the representatives of Korean civil society, Uzbek citizens and youth.
Speaking at the event, the Director of Institute for Eurasian Turkic Studies, Professor Mrs. Oh Eunkyung noted that Alisher Navoi is a unique figure in the history of the world literature. Alisher Navoi is an extraordinary man, both in terms of the glory of his talent, high position in society as a national statesman, and patronage of science, culture, art and literature.

According to her, today's event is of great symbolic significance, since it coincides with the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries. Because cultural ties bring peoples together and strengthen mutual cooperation.
Graduate student of Hanguk University of Foreign Languages Mr. Kim Dong Sok, while congratulating the great thinker Alisher Navoi on the 581st birthday, noted that this date is a real literary holiday for the peoples of the world. With his multifaceted work, Navoi sang goodness and humanity throughout the world.
Aizik Charidza (Zimbabwe), a researcher at Ajou University in Korea, noted that “It was a great pleasure for me to participate in today's event, dedicated to the memory of the great poet. I came with a friend from Uzbekistan. It was interesting to know that this man was a great poet who, living about 600 years ago, left such an unforgettable mark to this day. For me, this was an opportunity to get acquainted with the work and activities of Alisher Navoi, as well as to further study his works. Thank you for this opportunity."

Graduate student of Yonsei University Evgeniya Lee stated that on February 9, we are celebrating the 581st anniversary of the birth of the great poet and thinker Alisher Navoi, in whose honor a monument was erected in the heart of the capital of Korea.
Given the fact that the monument was erected during the state visit of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the Republic of Korea, it undoubtedly carries a great meaning:
It symbolizes really strong friendly relations of a special strategic partnership between Korea and Uzbekistan, and also speaks of in-depth cooperation between the two countries in the cultural and humanitarian sphere.
For us, compatriots who are far from our motherland, this place is a reminder of our home, where every year we will solemnly celebrate the poet's birthday.

I also hope that through to the erected monument to Alisher Navoi, the local people will also be able to deeply familiarize themselves with the work of the great figure, and there is not a single person left on Korean land, who does not recognize the name of Alisher Navoi.
The participants of the event congratulated the great thinker on the holiday and read samples of gazelles and rubies.
