Also the National Children’s Day

The Birth Anniversary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and National Children’s Day was celebrated by the Embassy of Bangladesh in Seoul on 17 March 2022 with due fervor and festivity. A significant number of members of the Bangladesh community and the Embassy officials along with their children took part in the program with great enthusiasm.

The day’s program commenced with the hoisting of the national flag by Ambassador M. Delwar Hossain with the national anthem in the morning at the Embassy premises. This was followed by paying homage to the Father of the Nation by placing floral wreaths in front of his bust inside the Chancery. Special prayer was offered seeking divine blessings for the Father of the Nation and continued peace and progress of the nation. Then, the Embassy officials read out the messages of the Hon’ble President, Hon’ble Prime Minister, Hon’ble Foreign Minister and Hon’ble State Minister for Foreign Affairs issued on this occasion. During the program, a documentary on the life of the Father of the Nation was screened. It was followed by a discussion session on the significance of the day. 

In his remark, Ambassador M. Delwar Hossain paid rich tribute to the memory of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and remembered with deep reverence his life-long struggle and sacrifice for the sovereignty and freedom of the people of Bangladesh. Highlighting the glorious life of Bangabandhu, he called upon the parents to instill the virtues of Bangabandhu in their children. He also wished the children on the Children’s Day and encouraged them to grow up to become enlightened persons.

The Embassy also organized art competition for the children and the Ambassador gave away prizes to the children. The Ambassador along with the participating cheerful children then cut a cake to celebrate this occasion. This was followed by a cultural program participated by the children.
