- To provide professional training on "sustainability" to undergraduate students aged 19 or older at Dongseo University

Pernod Ricard Korea (PRK), the Korean affiliate of the global wine and spirits company Pernod Ricard Group, announced on the 5th, it will provide “The Bar World of Tomorrow” professional training to undergraduate students aged 19 or older majoring in hotel management to build a sustainability culture throughout the hospitality industry.

Sustainability is an activity that must be practiced in the entire process from resource sourcing, product production, supply to consumption. PRK not only sources resources, produces products in a sustainable way to practice sustainability, but also makes many efforts to work with partners and customers to practice sustainability at the consumption stage.

‘The Bar World of Tomorrow' training is Pernod Ricard’s program to practice sustainability with partners, suggesting the concept of sustainability and various sustainable ways to practice during bar operation. It also educates the importance of Responsible Drinking and how to practice Responsible Serving at bars.

In this time, by providing related education to undergraduates majoring in hotel management, PRK plans this training to create an opportunity to have interest in sustainability and to build a sustainability culture throughout the hospitality industry. PRK will provide this training to undergraduate students aged 19 or older at Dongseo University in Busan on April 5.

Meanwhile, PRK has been providing this professional training to bar owners and bartenders since January, and so far, third-term trainees have been educated. A bartender, who attended the training, positively evaluated the training and said, “It was very helpful not only to tell us practical ways to put in place sustainability in bar operation right after the training, but also to share various cases currently being practiced by domestic bars and restaurants.”

Ricard Group has set its 2030 Sustainability & Responsibility roadmap, which is being implemented in all its subsidiaries around the world as part of its efforts to fulfill its commitment to environmental protection and sustainable management in all its business areas. The Bar World of Tomorrow program is part of this commitment and through the training, Pernod Ricard Group aims to help build a sustainable and mutually-respectful culture of partnership with other members of its shared community.
