According to the political and business circles in Korea, the Korean government is preparing Yoon’s visit to the U.S. in July this year. The timing of President Yoon's visit to the U.S. was initially discussed for August or September, but reports indicate that it has been moved up to July in consideration of the urgent matters to be discussed by the two leaders on various key issues, including national security, economic alliance and many other areas of cooperation between the two countries.

Reports indicate that timing of Yoon’s return visit to the U.S. is expected to be discussed and resolved between Presidents Yoon and Biden during their summit in Seoul in May.

There also are prospects of repeated summit meeting between Yoon and Biden, which include the possible second ROK-U.S. summit during their attendance at the NATO summit slated in Madrid, Spain, on June 29-30.

Meanwhile, Minister of Foreign Affairs Park Jin had a video conference with his U.S. counterpart, Secretary of State Antony Blinken, and decided to coordinate the Yoon’s visit to the U.S.

When President Yoon visits the U.S. in July, he is expected to be accompanied by the CEOs of a good number of major Korean business conglomerates who have made investments in the U.S., including Samsung Electronics, SK, Hyundai Motor, and LG.

Reports also indicate that President Biden is expected to meet with the leaders of many of the major Korean business companies during his visit to Seoul.

There are prospects of discussion for increased cooperation between the two countries in the high-tech industries such as semiconductors, electric vehicles, batteries and biotechnology.
