More than 300 Bangladeshi nationals living in Korea take part in the event

The Embassy of Bangladesh in Seoul celebrated the Bangla New Year-1429 with great fervor and festivity on May 15, 2022 at the auditorium of the Eunpyeong Culture & Arts Center in Seoul.

More than 300 Bangladeshi nationals living in the Republic of Korea spontaneously and actively took part in the event with their families wearing colorful clothes.

On this auspicious occasion, the auditorium was decorated with colourful banners, festoons, balloons and decorative items and Bangladeshi handicraft items were displayed at the auditorium entrance.

The main attraction of this event was a colorful rally-Mangal Shovajatra, a UNESCO cultural heritage and the people with colourful dresses, banners, festoons, masks and traditional musical instruments cheerfully marched the street.

Wishing a happy New Year, Ambassador of Bangladesh to the Republic of Korea Mr. Delwar Hossain expressed hope that the Bangla New Year would bring new hope, happiness, peace, and prosperity.

In the cultural segment, the Embassy family and the expatriate Bangladeshis sang the song-esho he Boishakh-greeting the Bangla New Year. The Embassy family and expatriate Bangladeshi performers performed poetry recitation, folk song, and dance in this segment. Different indoor games were also arranged for the children and women and the prizes were awarded to the winners by the Ambassador. The guests were served with traditional panta-ilish and different types of smashed items and sweetmeats.
