It is awarded by the French government to those who have made outstanding achievements in each field, such as politics, economy, and culture, or who have contributed to the development of France and the advancement of national prestige.

In Korea, Conductor Chung Myeong-hoon, Film Director Im Kwon-taek, and former UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon have received award.

Chairman Chey is evaluated to have contributed to the expansion of economic exchanges between the two countries by acquiring Iposukeshi, a company that develops gene and cell therapy, and promoting the establishment of a joint factory with Suez, an environmental company.

In 2021, SK acquired a 70% stake and management rights in Ifosque, France, which is a CMO for gene and cell therapeutics.

Founded in 2016, Ifosukesi is considered as one of the promising bio CMOs with gene delivery system (vector) production platform technology.

After being acquired by SK, Ifoskesi began construction of a second plant worth 80 billion won to mass-produce advanced gene and cell therapies.

Also, starting this month, SK Geocentric, an eco-friendly chemical subsidiary of SK Innovation, decided to establish a joint venture with Suez, a French environmental company, and Loop Industries, a Canadian plastic recycling company.

The management of the three companies decided to establish a chemical recycling plant with a capacity of 70,000 tons in Europe through a joint equity investment.

Meanwhile, Chairman Choi will attend the 170th International Exposition Organization (BIE) General Assembly to be held in Paris on the 21st and 22nd to meet with the BIE Secretary-General and ambassadors from various countries to bid for the '2030 Busan World Expo (Busan Expo)'.

In addition, they plan to participate in the 'Busan Expo Resolution Conference' in which Korean compatriots residing in France participate.
