To expand overseas sales of optical films for TVs

Mirae Nanotech (MNtech), headquartered in Cheongju, Chungcheongbuk-do, has established its production corporation in Egypt with a capital of $4.07 million (about 5.1 billion won) to expand overseas sales of optical films for TVs, the company said on July 13.

Earlier, Mirae Nanotech completed the registration of an Egyptian corporation in April. The company is currently preparing to build a factory and set up facilities in Egypt. It aims to mass-produce products in September this year.

Mirae Nanotech is the world's No. 1 company in the optical film market for TVs, ranging from secondary battery material, retroreflective sheets for traffic safety based on advanced nanotechnology, optical films for displays, touch screen panels, multi-coating films, and window films for automobiles and buildings.

Mirae Nanotech, which developed the first optical film for prism type LCD BLU in Korea in 2002 with its own technology.
