World Punggi Ginseng EXPO, Yeongju, Korea 2022 Organizing Committee said that it will hold the launching ceremony of the Pan-City Citizens' Support Council for the Ginseng Expo on July 19.
More than 500 people, including Mayor of Yeongju Park Nam-seo and Governor of Gyeongsangbuk-do Lee Chul-woo, officials of the Ginseng Expo Organizing Committee, and members of the pan-city civic support council, will attend the event to be held at Magpie Hall of Yeongju Cultural Art Building.
The launching ceremony will be held in the following order: △ award of appointment letter to executives △ report on the progress of the EXPO, △ agreement to purchase tickets for the EXPO, and △ performance to pray for success.
Among the appointed executives were Chairman Cho Kwan-seop (Chairman of Yeongju Chamber of Commerce and Industry), Vice Chairman Choi Seung-seop (Chairman of the Gyeongsangbuk-do Federation of Rural Leaders), and Vice Chairman Jang Jong-suk (Senior Vice Chairman of the Gyeongbuk Branch of the Korean Red Cross Volunteer Association).
Chairman Cho emphasized and asked for active cooperation, emphasizing, “It is not just an EXPO in Yeongju, but an important event that requires the convergence of all capabilities of the provincial level.”
The main roles of the members of the Pan-City Citizens Support Council are to promote the EXPO, induce members to participate in the EXPO, and participate in the EXPO of related organizations outside the government.
Gyeongsangbuk-do Civil Service Union Federation, ▲Gyeongsangbuk-do Saemaeul Association, ▲Rural Leaders Gyeongsangbuk-do Federation, ▲Rotary International 3630 Gyeongbuk District, ▲Gyeongsangbuk-do 4-H Headquarters, ▲Gyeongsangbuk-do Residents’ Association agreed to purchase tickets to wish for the successful opening of the EXPO.
Mayor Park Nam-seo of Yeongju City said in a welcoming speech, "I am confident that the revitalization of the local economy through the EXPO will be the starting point for the brilliant youth of the lord. I would like to ask for the activities and cooperation of the members of the Pan-City Citizens' Support Council so that the EXPO can be a sustainable event, not just a one-time EXPO."
Governor Lee Cheol-woo of Gyeongsangbuk-do said, “Ginseng has the potential to lead the current and future representative life industry. Through the World Punggi Ginseng EXPO, Yeongju, Korea 2022, the agricultural development and related industries in Gyeongbuk and Yeongju can mature and move forward. Let's work together to make it an opportunity."
Chairman Lee Hee-beom of Ginseng Expo Organizing Committee said, “We gave thanks to the heads of major organizations in the province for agreeing to the membership of the Pan-City Citizens Support Council, and laid the foundation for the successful hosting of the Ginseng Expo through the inauguration ceremony and ticket purchase agreement.”
Meanwhile, the World Punggi Ginseng EXPO 2022 will be held at the Punggi Ginseng Culture Pop-up Park in Yeongju from September 30 to October 23 under the theme of 'Ginseng, Embrace the World and Open the Future!'
