Hana Securities, led by CEO Lee Eun-hyung, sued an incumbent executive who committed a breach of trust worth 4.8 billion won (some $3.4 million).

According to the Financial Supervisory Service's electronic disclosure system on Oct. 4, Hana Financial Group announced on Sept. 30 that it has sued Chung, an incumbent executive of Hana Securities, for violating the Act on Aggravated Punishment of Specific Economic Crimes (Breach of trust).

The amount of the charges is 4.83 billion won (some $3.4 million). It is equivalent to 0.09 percent of its equity capital at the end of last year.

Hana Financial Group said, "The amount of the charges is not confirmed and may vary depending on the investigation results of the investigation," adding, "We will take all necessary measures according to the procedure."

Hana Financial Group said, "We plan to take all necessary measures in accordance with the legal procedures. We will disclose related matters if there are any further progress and confirmation facts."
