Regarding North Korea's recent series of short-range ballistic missile (SRBM) provocations, Rep. Tae Young-ho, a former North Korean diplomat, said, "Kim Jung-un is in the 'proportional response trap' of President Yoon Suk-yeol."
Rep. Tae Young-ho of the People Power Party said on Facebook on Dec. 31, "North Korea fired three short-range ballistic missiles (SRBMs) around 8 a.m. on Dec. 31.
Noting that all three short-range ballistic missiles launched this time are said to be of the KN series of solid fuel propulsion systems, he said. "If so, this is a strong response to our successful test flight of solid fuel propulsion space launch vehicles on Dec. 30."
North Korean leader Kim Jong-un is involved in the military "proportional response strategy" of the Yoon Suk-yeol government, he said.

Rep. Tae Young-ho said, "Looking at the recent military trends of the Kim Jong-un regime, it seems that Kim Jong-un's strategy was also modified to a 'match-and-match strategy' in addition to the proportional response strategy of the Yoon Suk-yeol government." In response, as the security cooperation system between South Korea, the U.S. and Japan was strengthened and the ROK-US joint training, which had not been held for nearly five years, was normalized, the Kim Jong-un regime staged military demonstrations against South Korea, the US and Japan, mobilizing even inferior fighters and bombers.”
"If Kim Jong-un, who declared nuclear completion and even legislated nuclear weapons, does not go forward with 'proportional response' and 'confrontation strategy', his leadership position in North Korea could be shaken," he said/
"If there is a 'military proportional response' and a 'counter-floating military protest' between the two Koreas in the future, it will be difficult for the Kim Jong-un regime with a weak economy to endure for a long time," he said.
Rep. Tae said, “The North Korean regime is also well aware of the fact that the former Soviet Union faced the regime collapse by engaging in an arms race with the United States in the past.”
The more we talk about proportional response, the more Kim Jong-un is bluffing and the grievances will deepen, and eventually he will have no choice but to come out with dialogue.”
