After a state visit to UAE, he will attend the World Economic Forum in Davos

President Yoon Suk-yeol will visit the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for a state visit and Switzerland to attend the World Economic Forum in Davos.

President Yoon will visit the UAE from Jan. 14 to 17 for a summit and state luncheon with UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, National Security Adviser Kim Sung-han said in a press briefing on Jan. 10.

As a symbol of the two countries' nuclear cooperation, Yoon will also tour the Barakah nuclear power plant built by South Korean companies in Abu Dhabi's far western desert and visit the Korean Army's Akh unit deployed in the UAE.

President Yoon will be the first leader of South Korea to pay a state visit to the UAE since the establishment of bilateral diplomatic relations in 1980.

On Jan. 17, Yoon will travel to Zurich, Switzerland, for a meeting with South Korean residents in the city before heading to Davos for a meeting the next day with CEOs of major global companies and to promote South Korea's bid to host the 2030 World Expo.

On Jan. 19, the president will give a special address at the World Economic Forum on ways the international community can work together to overcome the global economic crisis.

President Yoon will also visit the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich to meet with scholars and discuss cooperation in science and technology.
