National Children’s Day also observed in Seoul with due fervor and festivity

The Embassy of Bangladesh in Seoul celebrated the 103rd Birth Anniversary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and National Children’s Day 2023 on 17 March 2023 with due fervor and festivity. Members of the Bangladesh community in Seoul and the Embassy officials along with their children took part in the programme with great enthusiasm.

The day’s programme commenced with the hoisting of the national flag by Ambassador Delwar Hossain with the national anthem in the morning at the Embassy premises. Then, Ambassador Delwar Hossain, in presence of the Embassy officials and expatriate Bangladeshis, paid homage to the Father of the Nation by placing floral wreaths in front of his bust inside the Chancery.

Special prayer was offered seeking divine blessings for the Father of the Nation and for the continued peace and prosperity of the country. The Embassy officials read out the messages of the Hon’ble President, Hon’ble Prime Minister, Hon’ble Foreign Minister and Hon’ble State Minister for Foreign Affairs. A documentary on the life of the Father of the Nation was screened. It was followed by a discussion programme.

In his remark, Ambassador Delwar Hossain paid rich tribute to the memory of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and recalled with deep reverence his outstanding contribution to the independence of Bangladesh. He put emphasis on inculcating ideals and principles of the Father of the Nation in the children to play a role in building an ideal nation in the future.

The Embassy organized art competition for the children. Ambassador gave away prizes to the children and cut a cake with the participating cheerful children to celebrate this occasion. This was followed by a cultural performances by the children.
