Damyang-gun, led by Mayor Lee Byung-no, said on March 21 that it held the first briefing session on the preparation for the successful hosting of the 2023 New Bamboo Festival.
The first report on the preparation was held at the conference room of the county office presided over by Mayor Lee, with about 70 people, including the head of the departments and the heads of the townships, reporting the progress of each department and discussing the deficiencies.
The Damyang Bamboo Festival, which will be held for the first time in four years, has changed its name to the “2023 New Bamboo Festival” to leap beyond the local festival to become a global one.
Under the theme of "Let's go into the bamboo forest!" all public officials are working hard at the scene to re-examine the value of bamboo and provide tourists with various attractions.
Along with the preparation of various festival programs, the government plans to thoroughly prepare parking facilities, various convenience facilities, and safety measures to prepare tourists' convenience and safety first.
Mayor Lee said, "We are preparing to welcome tourists with more colorful and new programs," adding, "We will do our best to prepare for the rest of the year so that it can be linked to the income of local residents by focusing on stay-type and profit-type festivals."
