Embassy of Turkmenistan hosts friendly table tennis meeting at embassyDedicated to the 5th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games

A friendly table-tennis tournament among the diplomats was held at the Embassy of the Turkmenistan in Seoul on April 8, 2017 on the initiatives of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Seoul. It was in the light of the announcement the year 2017 as the Year of Health and Inspiration in Turkmenistan as well as in the framework of the upcoming 5th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games.
It was attended by deputy heads of mission and diplomats of varying ranks from the embassies of the Azerbaijan Republic, the Republic of Bulgaria, Republic of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, the Republic of Tajikistan, the Republic Uzbekistan and Ukraine, as well as representatives from the local media participated in the tournament.

Also a number of representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea, responsible for the issues of the Central Asian countries, took part in the event.
Before starting the tournament a short briefing was held at the Embassy with the participation of representatives of foreign diplomatic missions, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea and a number of local mass media with the aim of informing the foreign guests about the preparations for the forthcoming 5th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games (AIMAG-2017) as well as various sporting events, being organized in Turkmenistan and abroad dedicated to the aforementioned historical event, including numerous events being held within the framework of announcement the Year 2017 as the Year of Health and Inspiration in Turkmenistan.

Also, the participants were acquainted with the main achievements and transformations in the political, trade-economic, social, cultural and humanitarian spheres of Turkmenistan during the years of Independence.
Concerning the celebration of the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Korea in 2017, a high level of the bilateral relations and mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries was noted.

Then the table tennis tournament was started. The tournament was run in two separate contests with the aim to determine the absolute winner of the competition. Based on the results of the final playing, the winner was awarded with the Champion's Cup and the Certificate of the winner of the friendly table tennis tournament among diplomats. Other participants were solemnly awarded with Certificates of the participation in competition.
At the end of the competition, the participants were invited to a buffet of the traditional Turkmen meals, organized by the initiative of the Embassy.

During the above-mentioned activities the participants were also provided with printed materials on the upcoming 5th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games, including the text of a special press-release in this regard, as well as with several copies of the special editions of the local magazines fully dedicated to the major achievements and reforms in the foreign and domestic political life of Turkmenistan being carried successfully under the leadership of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov of Turkmenistan.
