Latest opinion poll result
According to an opinion survey conducted by Korea Gallup on Dec. 16-19, 2013 and published by Korean-language Internet newspaper, NEWSIS, on Dec. 20, 2013, Ahn Cheol-soo narrowed his gaps with the ruling Saenuri Party to mere 3% winning a 32% approval rating vis-a-vis 35% won by Saenuri. This showed an enormous change compared with earlier polls conducted by Research View published on Dec. 19, 2013 when Ahn got only 18.6% while Saenuri won 40.6%.
The new survey shows main opposition Democratic Party (DP) getting only 10% approval rating. The splinter opposition parties showed not much difference from the previous poll results. In the latest survey, the Unified Progressive Party (UPP) won 1% and the Justice Party (JP) 0.4%. Twenty-two percent of the interviewees said they had no opinion. Korea Gallup consulted a total of 1,207 men and women across the country above the age of 19.
