Taipan, Millennium Seoul Hilton’s Chinese restaurant, is pleased to offer a special tribute to spring during the month of March. The delightful seven-course menu, entitled Shanghainese Spring Cuisine, utilizes spring ingredients and garnishes to create an edible manifestation of this season.
The meal will commence with a selection of Shanghai-style cold appetizers, followed by a hot and sour soup with black vinegar, then braised sea cucumber and abalone with aralia sprouts. Diners will also enjoy Shanghainese smoked mero fish, wok-fried sliced beef with Shaoxing rice wine sauce, and Shanghai-style noodles with dried shrimp and scallion oil. To complete the course offerings, diners will be served sliced fresh fruits decorated with edible flowers.
This special menu is priced at KW98,000 per person and is available at lunch or dinner. A minimum order for two is required.
Taipan’s kitchen is headed by Japanese national, Chef Hideshima, whose specialty is creating Chinese delicacies with innovative sauces. “Shanghai is a major city with a population of 25 million people. Its cuisine is one of the Four Great Cuisines of China. The food is often reddish due to its use of rice wine and soy sauce, and when combined with bright green peas and edible flowers creates an edible landscape of spring. I hope that Taipan diners can enjoy the beauty of Shanghai cuisine this way, “ said Chef Hideshima.
Taipan is renowned for its innovative cuisine that showcases the complex flavors of China with its extensive a la carte selection including seasonal delicacies. Taipan is set in a modern and elegant environment, and has private dining rooms that exemplify bright and undisturbed surroundings.
