LG Electronics Inc.'s organic light-emitting diode (OLED) TV was named one of the best products of the year in a research carried out by Forbes and Rthings.com, a report showed on Oct. 26, 2018.

The LG OLED TV B8, available in 55 and 65 inches, received the highest score among 34 products surveyed by the U.S. business magazine and product evaluator for the Best TV of 2018 report.

"The LG B8 is the best TV we've reviewed in 2018. It has outstanding picture quality, thanks to the OLED panel that delivers excellent dark room performance. OLEDs can dim each pixel individually, so it delivers perfect blacks and wide viewing angles, which is great if you watch TV in a dark room with lots of side seating," the latest findings showed.

The evaluation, however, acknowledged that the model is also vulnerable to burn-in like other OLED TVs in the market. Burn-in is an effect that causes certain areas of displays to suffer discoloration when kept on for long periods.

"If you watch enough varied content, we don't expect this to be an issue for most people," the report added.(Yonhap)
