Insanga, a bamboo salt-specialized manufacturing company, was listed on the KOSDAQ market on Sept. 11, after 31 years since it started its business.
In a press conference on its history of KOSDAQ listing and growth held on Sept. 20, President Kim Yoon-se of Insanga, a local company in Hamyang County, South Gyeongsang Province, said, "We will lead the revitalization of the regional economy as a global healthcare company."
While explaining its project to create a "region-specialized agricultural and industrial complex for anti-aging with Insanga bamboo salt, President Kim said, "We will use the KOSDAQ listing as a stepping stone to grow into a global leader in healthcare."
He said, "Insanga produces bamboo salt and bamboo salt-applied products according to the traditional methods and techniques of making it by Insan Kim Il-hoon, an inventor of bamboo salt and oriental medical doctor."
Noting that the screening for the listing of Insanga on the KOSDAQ market this time was evaluated for both financial stability and non-financial factors, Kim said, "The Financial Supervisory Service issued a green light to our company after confirming eligibility for profitability and managerial transparency.
"On the occasion of the KOSDAQ listing, we expect a successful propulsion for the creation of a 'region-specialized agricultural and industrial complex for anti-aging with Insanga bamboo salt. In the future, we hope that this will become a new growth engine for Insanga by fostering this region as a healing attraction armed with complex functions as the sixth industrial complex."
The president said that the complex will be built as the sixth industrial complex encompassing the first, second and third industries by investing 25.7 billion won into the site of 210,683㎡ and housing more than 80,000 persons annually.
Meanwhile, Insanga calls its members family. The Customer Support Office assigns representatives by consumers and provides separate services like family members. Since they are members that have been linked to health, the company is presenting health information through more specific health methods and "Insan medicine" magazines rather than focusing on product information. Members are more satisfied with these customer satisfaction services.
Insanga has built and operated a health training center on the region 500 meters above sea level in the middle of Sambong Mountain (1,186 meters above sea level) in Hamyang, South Gyeongsang Province. It has been designed to help modern people recharge their tired bodies and spirit, and the 1 night & 2 days healing program equipped with a red clay house, a log cabin, a lecture room, a rest room, and walking path is very popular.
"We will not stop thorough quality control and self-innovation in the future in order to carry out our mission to spread bamboo salt that contains human essential minerals," Kim said.
Meanwhile, Insanga, which has about 270,000 members, operates direct-run shops in 15 major cities across the country. It earned 26 billion won in sales, 4.5 billion won in operating profit and 3.2 billion won in net profit based on the consolidated basis last year, the biggest performance since its inception.
Major sales of Insanga are made through B2C (Business-to-consumer transactions) that use channels such as customer relationship management (CRM), direct-operated stores, retail outlets, online, and shopping malls.
