Ranking a high score

Samsung Electronics Co. said on Nov. 5, 2018 its 8K-QLED TV won a top mark by Germany-based consumer electronics evaluator Video, which praised the products' resolution, design and convenience.

The South Korean tech giant said the German magazine gave a score of 949 points to the Q900R model, the highest grade awarded to a television.

The company opened a new era for TVs through the immersive 8K resolution and the High Dynamic Range (HDR) technology, with a whopping brightness of 4,000 nits, Video was quoted as saying by Samsung.

It added that Samsung's QLED TV stands out on the back of the magic screen feature that displays various content from news to photos when not in use.

Samsung said the QLED 8K TV has been receiving accolades from global evaluators after its official release in October, including Forbes, AVS Forum, Trusted Reviews and HD Guru.

The South Korean tech giant said the QLED 8K TV will help the company lead the global market for large premium TVs. (Yonhap)
