Hyundai Mobis Co., South Korea's biggest auto parts maker, said on Mar. 13, 2019 it has invested 5.5 billion won (US$4.9 million) in Chinese computer vision startup Beijing Deep Glint Technology Ltd. for partnership in future vehicle technologies.

"This marks the first time Hyundai Mobis is making an overseas investment to foster cooperation in connected car technologies. The investment size is small but it is just the beginning," a company spokesman said.

Hyundai Mobis plans to make further investments in multinational firms to work with them on future vehicle technologies involving autonomous and connected cars, he said.
