Chief of the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince's Court of the UAE

SEOUL, 14th April, 2015 (WAM) -- Park Geun-hye, President of South Korea, and H.H. Sheikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chief of the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince's Court, have discussed friendship and cooperation relations between the UAE and Korea.

This came when the President of Korea received Sheikh Hamed bin Zayed and his accompanying delegation today at the Presidential Palace, the Blue House, in the Korean capital, Seoul.

The Korean President welcomed Sheikh Hamed on his visit to Seoul, extending his wishes that the visit will strengthen cooperation and friendship relations between the two countries.

Sheikh Hamed conveyed the greetings of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, to President Park Geun-hye, wishing Korea and its people more progress and prosperity.

For her part, the Korean President reciprocated her greetings to His Highness the President, His Highness the Vice President and His Highness the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, wishing the UAE and its people continued progress and development.

The meeting dealt with bilateral relations between the UAE and the Republic of Korea and ways of strengthening them in the light of friendship relations and common strategic interests between the two countries. It touched on the importance of opening wider horizons in the economic and investment fields between the two countries and promote economic growth, aspired by both countries in many areas.

Sheikh Hamed confirmed that the UAE always looks forward to further cooperation and communication and the establishment of economic relations and partnerships with Korea.

He added that the relations between the UAE and Korea are witnessing continuous growth at the level of two-way investment, stressing the importance of mutual visits between officials of the two countries, which in turn, will promote opportunities for consultation, mutual understanding and coordination in finding new and effective premises for both countries' economies.

President Park expressed her happiness on the level of relations between her country and the United Arab Emirates to achieve the best desired results for the two countries.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Rashid Ahmed bin Fahad, Minister of Environment and Water, Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Sultan Al Jaber, Minister of State and CEO of Masdar, and Abdullah Khalfan Mattar Al Rumaithi, UAE Ambassador to the Republic of South Korea.
