For Korea’s participation in Uzbekistan’s industrial modernization, other projects

President Park Geun-hye will have a summit meeting with President Islam Karimov of the Republic of Uzbekistan at the Presidential Office of Cheong Wa Dae in Seoul this morning (May 28, 2015). President Karimov is in Seoul on an official state visit to Korea at the invitation of President Park.

It is the second time President Park has a summit meeting with President Karimov since the last Korea-Uzbekistan summit in Tashkent during her visit to the country in June last year.
At this summit meeting in Seoul, President Park is expected to discuss ways to expand Korea’s participation in the industrial modernization and new infrastructural development projects which the Uzbek government is actively pushing.

The two Heads of State are also expected to discuss the furthering cooperation (1) in the economic, trade and investment areas, (2) training of qualified manpower and expansion of exchange of manpower and culture and (3) exchange opinions on regional issues, etc.

The two Presidents are also expected to explore ways for Uzbekistan’s cooperation and participation in the implementation of the ‘Eurasia Initiatives’ of President Park.
