Hanlim Co., Ltd (CEO Kim Ok-soo) has possessed accumulated experience and know-how in various elevators and industry machine, automation equipment business. In 1994, the company was founded(then Geosan Elevator), and become a member of Daegu/Gyeongbuk Machinery Cooperation. In 1999, Hanlim registered as a member of Korea Elevator Cooperation and received licenses for Construction, Equipment Business, especially license for Elevator. 

The year 2001, company established a business office in Osaka, Japan, the first overseas branch.

Hanlim’s explosive growth did not slow down. In 2002, it registered a utility model of device to control elevator voice recognition operation, a utility model of device to rotate floor of elevator cage. With them, Hanlim received ISO Certificate for Production, Installation and Maintenance of Elevators.

In the year 2010, the company change their name into Hanlim Co., Ltd. and switched company type as a corporation. The next year, Hanlim received Elevator Section Award of Small and Medium Business Brand Award of the Korea Economic Daily.

Hanlim is Korea’s leading elevator company. It is manufacturing and constructing passenger elevator, disabled elevator, observation elevator, hospital elevator, cargo elevator, food delivery elevator, parking elevator, and various other on-demand elevators.

Kim Ok-soo, the CEO of Hanlim, has more than 40 years of engineering experience. He has worked as an engineer at Gumsung Elevator(OTIS Elevator) and other related companies for 16 years since 1978. 

When the elevator market was booming, he established Geosan Elevator(Hanlim Elevator) in 1994, to actively meet consumer demand based on field experience.

After that, Hanlim obtained ISO 9001/14001 Certification, developed an elevator cage floor rotation device in 2002, and an elevator voice recognition operation control device in 2004. Hanlim lead the development of technologies and designs of domestic elevators by applying for patents and utility model registration.

Otherwise, CEO Kim Ok-soo focus on nurturing the younger students. Currently, he served as adjunct professor at Korea Lift College to cultivating talented student as well. Korea Lift College located in Geochang-gun, Gyeongsangnam-do. In this college, there are two-year vocational college courses and a four-year bachelor's course for elevators. It is the only elevator school in the world, and many foreign students are studying at this college. 

With the vision of a world- leading elevator technical manpower training school, the college customized education practice centered on consumers of the lift, cultivating global talent by creating a student-friendly educational environment, contributing to the development of national industries by developing talents for professionals lead the future of elevators by cultivating creative and responsible human resources. As the only school in the world, many foreign students also pass here from abroad.

He wants to share all his know-how with students about lifts he has experienced. As professor, he has been teaching more than 1,000 students for nine years. He obtained a master’s degree in business administration from Kyungpook National University Business School with the aim of helping business management.

CEO Kim said, “Since its foundation, we have done our best not only to complete the best products with the best technology but also to provide follow-up services under the principle of never winning low-cost orders,” and added, “We will do our best to cultivate younger students for the rest of my life.”

Hanlim Co., Ltd. was in charge of the construction of dummy waiters for about 60 elementary and middle schools, and won various brand awards and entrepreneurial awards, including Evaluation of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises, Hankyung SMEs Brand Awards in 2011, Proud Korean Award in 2014, and K-ESG(Environment Social Governance) Management Innovation Award.

Korea has top-class elevator technology in the world. In terms of elevator speed, the fastest elevator speed is about 1080m/min, and Hyundai Elevator, Mitsubishi Elevator, and KONE Elevators and Escalators can produce it. 

The elevator is one of the representative technologies that has changed the architectural culture of the city. 

Without the elevator, it would have been difficult for the building to rise more than four to five stories, and it is not easy to use the city area effectively. However, since the invention of the elevator, the efficiency of the urban area has rapidly increased, and accordingly, people work, eat, and sleep in high positions that were unimaginable in the past. 

In a way, it is not an exaggeration to say that elevators are technologies that have changed human civilization.
