Uzbekistan marks 34th independence anniversary and 33 years of diplomatic ties with S.Korea
Ambassador Alisher Abduasalomov: “Bilateral cooperation to expand into a future-oriented partnership”
The Embassy of Uzbekistan in Korea hosted a reception on September 19 at the Crystal Ballroom of Lotte Hotel in Sogong-dong to celebrate the 34th anniversary of Uzbekistan’s independence and the 33rd anniversary of diplomatic relations with the Republic of Korea.
The event brought together members of the diplomatic corps, Korean government and National Assembly officials, business leaders, as well as figures from academia and the cultural sector, reflecting the strong and enduring friendship between the two countries.
In his welcoming remarks, Uzbek Ambassador to Korea Alisher Abduasalomov highlighted the achievements of the bilateral strategic partnership. “Uzbekistan and Korea have made remarkable progress in various areas of cooperation,” he said, adding, “I look forward to seeing our partnership expand into broader fields including energy, infrastructure, advanced technologies, and education and culture.”
Jung Yong-ki, CEO of Korea District Heating Corporation, also delivered congratulatory remarks, underscoring the growing energy cooperation between the two nations. “I recently visited the Tashkent New City and Sarafshan region to assess project opportunities, and last April we signed an MOU with Uzbekistan’s Heat Supply Company to cooperate on district heating modernization and combined heat and power projects,” he stated.
