Incheon rebrands industrial complex as ‘Gyeyang AX Park’ to lead AI-driven industrial transformation
City launches data-based gender equality statistics system to strengthen inclusive policy planning
Incheon City has officially renamed the Gyeyang Techno Valley urban high-tech industrial complex to “Gyeyang AX Park (Geoyang AX Park)”, signaling a full-scale push to transform the region into a core hub for AI-centered future industries. The term “AX” stands for AI Transformation, reflecting the city’s strategy to integrate artificial intelligence into research, commercialization, and industrial operations.
Gyeyang AX Park is planned to span a total of 750,000 square meters, with the first-phase development of 350,000 square meters already designated. Incheon aims to build the site not merely as an industrial cluster but as a converged ecosystem where AI research, testing, demonstration, and business application can seamlessly connect.
A city official explained, “Gyeyang AX Park will serve as a strategic hub in northern metropolitan Incheon, with a focus on attracting next-generation technology companies and creating an environment where AI-driven innovation can be actively commercialized.”
In parallel with this industrial initiative, Incheon has also become the first local government in Korea to introduce a publicly accessible gender equality statistics platform built on open government data. The Gender Statistics System, available through the Incheon Data Portal (data.incheon.go.kr), allows citizens, researchers, and policy planners to freely access 300 indicators across ten categories, including childcare, social welfare, cultural participation, labor, health, and public engagement.
The city expects the platform to improve policy transparency and evidence-based decision-making, enabling citizens and institutions to participate more actively in policy review and development.
Incheon City stated, “Gyeyang AX Park represents our commitment to building a future-ready industrial base, while the gender statistics system reinforces our capacity for balanced, equitable governance. Innovation in industry and society must move forward together.”
