Mangystau Regional Philharmonic presents “Kazakhstan – Sounds of the Great Steppe” in Seoul

On October 30, the Mangystau Regional Philharmonic from Kazakhstan’s Mangystau region performed the “Kazakhstan – Sounds of the Great Steppe” concert at the Hanra Hall of Dragon City Hotel in Seoul.

In his welcome remarks, Nurgali Arystanov, Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Korea, said, “Culture is the most important bridge of friendship and mutual understanding connecting the people of Kazakhstan and Korea. Today’s stage is a celebration that expresses the spirit of Kazakhstan through music, dance, and fashion.” He added, “Culture knows no borders—it unites us, builds trust, and connects people.”

Ambassador Arystanov also highlighted that cooperation between the two countries continues to expand not only in humanities and cultural exchanges but also in political, parliamentary, local government, and economic sectors. Tourism has shown significant growth, with cities such as Almaty, Astana, and Shymkent—directly connected to Korea by flights—emerging as new destinations for Korean travelers.

The concert featured the Abyl Tarakuly Folk Instruments Orchestra under the Mangystau Philharmonic and the "Zhorğa" dance troupe, delivering a rich and captivating performance. The fashion brand "Tarbiya" also presented a collection blending national traditions with contemporary design.

Attendees described the concert as a meaningful experience that allowed them to fully appreciate Kazakhstan’s rich cultural heritage.
