Kazakhstan investment opportunities highlighted at “K-Global Synergistic Leap Forum – Central Asia Edition”

On November 11, the K-Global Synergistic Leap Forum – Central Asia Edition” was held at the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), showcasing investment opportunities and collaboration prospects in Kazakhstan. Hosted by Shinhan Bank and co-sponsored by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and KCCI, the event provided a platform for direct exchanges and experience sharing between Korean and Central Asian companies.
At the opening ceremony, Nurgali Arystanov, Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Korea, highlighted Kazakhstan’s dynamic development and open investment environment, noting that Korea ranked among the top three foreign investors in Kazakhstan as of 2024. He also mentioned that more than 894 Korean companies, including Shinhan Bank, are successfully operating in Kazakhstan.
Ambassador Arystanov emphasized Kazakhstan’s ongoing digital transformation policies and active cooperation with Korea in innovation, artificial intelligence, industry, infrastructure, and smart cities. He added that the upcoming Korea-Central Asia summit and political dialogues are expected to create a favorable environment for expanding investment and deepening economic cooperation between the two countries.
Recent collaboration examples include the operation of KIA’s automotive assembly plant in Kazakhstan, the opening of the Open Healthcare Almaty Korean-style diagnostic center, and Samsung Electronics’ smart TV and washing machine production facilities—demonstrating the reliability and trustworthiness of Korean investment in the country. He also underscored that Korea is one of Kazakhstan’s top 10 trading partners, reflecting strong potential for economic collaboration.
Seo Seung-hyun, Head of Global Business Group at Shinhan Bank, highlighted Central Asia as one of the most promising markets for Korean companies, pointing to opportunities in energy, infrastructure, and digital industries. Daulet Saktaganov, the Representative of Kazakh Invest JSC in Korea, introduced key investment opportunities and incentives for overseas investors, encouraging active participation by Korean firms.
