At Yonsei University in, Incheon

The Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman in Korea launched on Jan. 9, 2016 its annual program, “Welcome to Oman,” as part of its participation in the Diplomatic International Forum of Seoul 2016 organized by HOBY Korea at Yonsei University in Incheon.

Ambassador Mohamed AlHarthy of the Sultanate of Oman in Seoul gave a lecture titled “The Sultanate of Oman: Historical and Cultural Heritage” which included a general overview of Oman, the geography, strategic location and modern renaissance.
Also pointed out at the lecture was the role of Oman in marine navigation and international trade, the Silk Road, the frankincense (Luban) caravans throughout civilization.
The lecture also highlighted the historical and cultural aspects of Oman and the Korea-Oman relation and cooperation. Ambassador AlHarthy also stressed Oman’s experience in the approach of understanding, tolerance and coexistence in a multicultural, culture, religion and society.
During the lecture there was a visual presentation of video clips of some documentary films. After that there was a distribution of the brochures, pamphlets and optical CDs about Oman promoting sights and tourism.
