With the attendance of vice ministers of two countries on June 14

The first meeting of the Joint Commission on Economic Cooperation between the Governments of Korea and Azerbaijan was held in Seoul on June 14, 2016.
The meeting of the Joint Commission led by Deputy Minister Iltimas Mammadov of Communications and High Technologies of Azerbaijan and Vice-Minister Woo Taehee of Trade, Industry and Energy of Korea discussed ways to further develop mutually beneficial economic relations between the two countries. Representatives of various governmental bodies and the organizations of the countries also attended the meeting.
At the workshop of the meeting of the Joint Commission, Co-chairmen of the Commission had productive discussions embracing further prospects of bilateral relations between the two countries.
The meeting started with opening remarks of Co-chairmen from both sides. Deputy Minister Iltimas Mammadov of Communications and High Technologies of Azerbaijan drew the attention of the attendees to the development of Azerbaijan in all fields over the past 10 years under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev and highlighted the importance of the first meeting of the Joint Commission in utilizing the existing long-term perspectives and opportunities aiming to serve the further enhancement of bilateral ties in economic, cultural, scientific-technical, touristic, humanitarian spheres. Deputy Minister Mammadov noted the need of further strengthening the realization of export-oriented products of the two countries in other markets and active cooperation between the two countries within the frame of international organizations.
In turn, Korean Vice Minister Woo Taehee of MOTIE said that that Korea attached high importance to constantly developing relations with Azerbaijan and conveyed his assurance in productivity of the Joint Commission in terms of further broadening of bilateral ties towards next levels. Vice Minister Woo expressed his appreciation for the created favorable business and investment climate for foreign companies including Korean companies and mentioned their willingness for further participation in future projects of Azerbaijan.
The first meeting was followed by plenary sessions and the Protocol of the First Meeting of the Joint Commission on Economic Cooperation between the governments of Korea and Azerbaijan was signed by the co-chairmen of the Commission.
