Samsung Electronics is expected to supply equipment to build 5G wireless network for Telus, a leading telecom provider in Canada.

According to the latest information from the electronics industry sources in Korea, the development means that the company is expected to dominate the network equipment sector at a time when telecom companies in different countries are avoding Huawei, China's top supplier of network equipment.

Last March, Samsung announced that the company will supply 5G new radio solutions, including Massive MIMO radios to a company in New Zealand, largest in the country.

“As a longstanding innovator in the 5G space, Samsung is looking forward to supporting Telus, and in playing a key role in expanding new 5G horizons in Canada with unparalleled 5G network solutions,” Cheun Kyung-whoon in charge of the networks business at Samsung Electronics was quoted as saying by local media.
