IBM has appointed Won Sung-shik, the head of the IBM technology group, as the country general manager (CGM) of IBM Korea.

Won Sung-sik joined IBM Korea in 1991 and gained experience and expertise in various IBM business sectors such as hardware, marketing, global technology services, and financial industry sales.

"I am deeply moved and happy to be the head of the organization that started my career as an industry expert. I am looking forward to leading IBM to the next stage of growth in Korea," Won said.

"I will make efforts to be a business partner that plays a pivotal role in customer growth through IBM's differentiated strategy centered on hybrid cloud and AI solutions."

Meanwhile, former CGM Song Ki-hong will move to a position where he will oversee global business services of IBM's Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and IBM Korea. IBM ASEAN consists of six countries: Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines and Vietnam.
