Vice Chairman Lee Jae-yong of Samsung Business Group arrived at the Office of the Special Prosecutors in Daechi-dong, Seoul this morning (Jan. 18, 2017) in advance of issuance of an arrest warrant against him.
Reporters asked him: “Do you still think that simply you are a victim of President Park Geun-hye?”
“The national insurance money paid by the old people for the benefit of their post-retirement livelihood was used for the purpose of smooth transfer of the management control of the Samsung Group to you. Don’t feel any moral responsibility over this matter?”
“Reports indicate that 43 billion won of the company money were used in bribes. Don’t you feel any responsibility about this matter. Don’t you feel any responsibility on this matter?”
Vice Chairman Lee did not answer any of the above questions but proceeded into the Special Prosecutor’s Office without any response.
Whether or not Lee will be arrested is expected to be decided this evening.
