Park Jong-soo named chairman of the Presidential Committee on Northern Economic Cooperation
President Moon Jae-in appointed Lee Seok-hyun, former deputy speaker of the National Assembly who served as a six-term lawmaker, as the senior vice chairman of the National Unification Advisory Council on Aug. 27, a Presidential spokesman said.
He also appointed Park Jong-soo, a standing representative of the Northeast Asian Community Culture Foundation, as chairman of the Presidential Committee on Northern Economic Cooperation.
Lee Seok-hyun, a graduate of the Department of Law, Seoul National University, served as a member of the 14th, 15th, 17th, 18th, 19th and 20th National Assembly in Dongan-gu, Anyang-si, Gyeonggi-do.
Park Jong-soo graduated from Sogang University's Department of Political Science and Diplomacy and served as minister of the Korean Embassy to Russia, an expert member of the Northern Economic Cooperation Committee, and an adjunct professor at Sogang University's Graduate School of Public Policy.
