70 million won voluntarily raised to provide cold-weather supplies to the underprivileged

The labor and management at LG Chem and LG Energy Solution are staging the ’Sharing 10,000 Won’ campaign to spread warmth at the year-end.

The companies will provide cold-weather supplies to the underprivileged in order to help overcome the winter cold, and are holding a blood donation campaign at all workplaces to help overcome the current shortage of blood supply in the nation.

On Dec. 23, the two companies announced that they had held a ceremony on Dec. 22 at the Korean Red Cross`s office in Jung-gu, Seoul, to deliver a donation of 70 million won which was collected through the ’Sharing 10,000 Won’ campaign.

‘Sharing 10,000 Won’ was a voluntary donation made by the employees of the two companies to help places in need, such as COVID-19 medical staff, small business owners, and victims of flooding, etc. The campaign is part of the ‘LG Green Chemical Project’, a joint social contribution activity between the labor and management.

LG Chem and LG Energy Solution are carrying out year-end social contribution activities such as relay blood donation and donations to childcare facilities. Since December 8, the labor and management are jointly holding a relay blood donation campaign where the executives and employees of 11 domestic workplaces can participate.

Representatives from LG Chem stated, “The labor and management both shared the common view that they should help the neighbors during the year-end and have voluntarily joined efforts to make this happen. We will continue to provide support for those in need in order to create a brighter future environment where local communities can sustain.”
