SK Energy CEO Cho Kyung-mok said, "This year marks the 60th anniversary of SK Energy's foundation. SK Energy has played a leading role in the energy chemical business. We will make an essential company in the era of carbon neutrality and even an energy company that did not exist in the world."
Noting that the oil refining business is expected to recover oil demand in the short term, he said, “But in the long run, energy transition will reach the limit of demand growth. In the midst of changes in the business environment, SK Energy will implement a bolder and more active biz portfolio innovation."
Earlier this year, CEO Cho also stressed in his New Year's address to company members.
In addition, CEO Cho explained the low-carbon/ decarbon projects developed/operated by SK Energy R&S (Refinery & Synergy) CIC and P&M (Platform & Marketing) CIC for each CIC business to achieve "carbon neutrality."
“In particular, we are considering expanding the project as more customers are participating than expected," he said, adding, "The storyline of NetZero, which can lead to the understanding and participation of the entire value chain, including final consumers, is important."
