Employees of the company and members of Environment Action Association will work together for the conservation of nature on June 16, 2022, in Seoul, Daejeon, and Busan.

Pernod Ricard Korea, the Korean unit of the global wine and spirits company Pernod Ricard Group, announced on May 25, 2022 that it has donated 10 million won to Environment Action Association to help support its activities to conserve nature and protect biodiversity. In addition, Pernod Ricard Korea employees will carry out environmental protection activities in Seoul, Daejeon and Busan on June 16 in conjunction with Environment Action Association.

Indeed, Pernod Ricard Group designates one day a year as Responsib’ALL Day when its 18,500 employees in 160 countries around the world gather at various sites to conduct social contribution activities. This year, the company plans to plant trees and do river purification work in Seoul and other major cities on June 16 under the theme of conservation of nature and protection of biodiversity.

The donation ceremony was held at the Environment Action Association office located in Bangbae-dong, Seoul in the presence of key stakeholders including CEO Frantz Hotton of Pernod Ricard Korea and chairman Gyoungyul Lee of Environment Action Association.

The Environment Action Association is a non-profit environmental organization established in 2000 and registered with the Ministry of Environment. People interested in environmental protection and willing to express their love for the environment come together to conduct activities that help address global environmental issues with special focus on monitoring of environmental degradation and pollution, promotion of environmental awareness and environmental education, creation of environmental policy suggestions and mitigation of global warming.

CEO Frantz Hotton of Pernod Ricard Korea commented, “Since all the products of the Pernod Ricard Group are created using resources from nature such as grain, soil, and water, the group is exerting extra efforts to protect the environment and preserve biodiversity. With the ever-growing importance of environmental protection, Pernod Ricard Korea will lead the related efforts by performing a wide range of activities to protect the environment and promote sustainability.”

Meanwhile, in line with its 2030 Sustainability and Responsibility roadmap 'Good Times from a Good Place,’ Pernod Ricard Group is working to practice sustainability and responsible management at all stages of production from 'grain to glass.’ In particular, on the grain side, since the raw materials for its products come from nature, the company is endeavoring to protect biodiversity and environment around the world by using renewable energy and reducing its water consumption and carbon footprint. On the glass side, Pernod Ricard Korea has been training bartenders and bar owners on growing skills for more sustainable bartending and responsible serving: The Bar World of Tomorrow program. Pernod Ricard Korea has launched this program in this January, and 71 bartenders and bar owners and 59 students who are majoring hotel management and food/beverage have been trained so far.
