Yoo Byung-ok said, "The recycling business is the core of POSCO Group's secondary battery material business. We will continue to expand the recycling business to take the lead in corporate social responsibility and secure competitiveness of secondary battery materials."

POSCO Holdings established PLSC, a subsidiary of secondary battery recycling, in March last year to respond to the growth of secondary battery recycling market and requirement of major customers to use raw materials.

PLSC, which was completed 10 months after starting the construction of the plant in October 2021, is a secondary battery recycling plant with an annual production capacity of 7,000 tons. It will collect and crush scrap and waste batteries in Europe to make powdery intermediate products (Black Mass) and supply them to POSCO HY Clean Metal.
